  • Liverpool won 3-1 but lost the top spot after City win

Manchester City have been crowned champions of England after a 93-point season.

This title means that they have won four out of the last five possible premier league titles, putting their tally at six premier league titles and overtaking Chelsea in the Premier League title wins, only second to Manchester United with 13 titles.

City went into the game against Aston Villa knowing that to win the title that would have to win the game.

The game started off rocky with no goal chances in the first half for City however, they went into half time 1-0 down after a Matty Cash header.

The hopes of City fans at half-time were down dramatically after the goal. The second-half kicked off and almost instantly Villa was putting serious pressure to get the second goal.

The second Villa goal came at the 69th minute, with a beautiful ball from the keeper all the way up to Coutinho where he took it down and slotted it bottom left of the net.

All hopes looked lost in City with players like Foden and Jesus looking distraught.

Pep Guardiola made three substitutions bringing on Zinchenko for Fernandinho, Gundogan for Silva and Sterling for Mahrez, which proved vital in the comeback for City with the captain Gundogan scoring two of the goals to clinch the title.

City took over the game from the 75th minute where they managed to score three very important goals in six minutes.

With them goals in the back of the net City took complete control with just keeping possession until the final whistle was blown.
